Jharkhand splits into two quite different customer types. Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Bokaro are industrial towns with dense working populations and steady retail demand for fresh atta. The rural districts grind their own maize, madua (ragi) and wheat, often as a village service rather than a shop.
Madua is the load worth planning for. Like ragi elsewhere it is small, hard and best ground cool, and it is a staple across the Chotanagpur plateau. Maize is the other big one, and maize is oily enough to smear an emery stone within days. A shop grinding both on emery spends real time cutting the stone. That is the practical case for diamond stone here rather than any theoretical one.
Power is the sizing constraint in rural Jharkhand. Three phase is not dependable everywhere, so the 14 inch on 3 HP single phase is our most common order for the state. In the industrial towns where supply is stable, the 16 inch on three phase makes better economic sense for a busy shop.
