Grinding rates in Kerala typically run Rs 3–5 per kg. A 14 inch machine grinding 200–300 kg/day can earn Rs 20,000–35,000 per month net — machine cost recovered in 4–6 months. Dealership enquiries from Kerala are welcome.

Kerala grinds rice more than any other grain, and puttu podi, pathiri podi and appam-related flours are made from dry-ground rice. That is squarely what a diamond stone chakki is for. Enquiries reach us from Kochi, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram, and a good share of them are households rather than shops.
Two things matter for Kerala buyers. First, this is a dry grinder. It will not make appam or dosa batter, which needs a wet grinder. We would rather say that clearly than have you order the wrong machine. Second, humidity is high here year round, so grain must be properly dried before grinding or it will clog the stone. Roasted rice for puttu podi grinds particularly well because it is bone dry.
Ragi is the other common Kerala load, and like rice it benefits from a stone that turns slowly and keeps the flour cool. High speed pulverisers heat both and change the taste.
For home use the 10 inch on 1.5 HP is usually enough, and a small shop is well served by the 12 inch or 14 inch. Freight from Mumbai down the west coast to Kerala is a routine lane.
No. This is a dry grinder. Batter needs a wet grinder. Use the chakki for rice flour, puttu podi, ragi, wheat and pulses.
The machine is fine. The flour is the issue. Dry your grain fully before grinding, store the flour in a sealed container, and clean the chamber at the end of the day. Roasted rice for puttu podi is the easiest load because it is completely dry.
The 10 inch on a 1.5 HP single phase motor is enough for a family. Choose the 12 inch if you grind for more than one household or sell small quantities.
