Three decades of building flour mills that outlast the machines around them. Mumbai, since 1996.
In 1996 we began as a small workshop in Mumbai repairing flour mills for local atta shops. Repairing other people’s machines taught us exactly where they fail — thin sheet-metal bodies that vibrate loose, shafts that go out of alignment, and grinding stones that need dressing every single week.
So we started building our own. Every design decision since has come from a complaint we heard from a shop owner standing in front of a broken machine.
Ordinary emery stones need taki (dressing) roughly every week. That means downtime, a stone-dresser’s fee, and flour quality that drifts between dressings. Our diamond stone is a hardened composite that stays sharp for years. For a working atta shop this is the single biggest saving — in money and in lost grinding hours.
We use heavy gauge steel and cast iron where most manufacturers use folded sheet metal. The machine is heavier and costs more to freight, but it does not walk across the floor when it runs, and the bearings stay aligned for years instead of months.
Most of our customers already own a motor, or can buy one locally cheaper than we can ship one. So we sell the machine without the motor and tell you exactly what to fit. You are not paying us to resell you a motor.
Our manufacturing system is ISO 9001:2015 certified (Certificate No. 20160810122398R, issued by RBS Quality Certification Pvt. Ltd., accredited by IAF-UK). Every machine passes documented checks on material, assembly, shaft alignment and finishing before it leaves the workshop.
We ship across India and export to Nepal. Bihar and Nepal are among our fastest-growing markets — Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, Bhagalpur, and across the border to Kathmandu, Birgunj and Biratnagar.
Machines travel in wooden crates by transport, typically 3–7 days, with full tracking and the transporter’s number shared on dispatch. Installation guidance is free, on video call, in Hindi or English.
30 years of building and repairing flour mills.
A dealer network across India, plus direct export to Nepal.
Documented, audited quality management system.
What our machines are built to last, not what they are warrantied for.
You are welcome to come and see the machines running before you buy. We are open daily, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Kapi Mill and Machinery started in 1996 in Mumbai making flour mill machines, and that is still the only thing we make. We are not a trading company that buys machines and puts a sticker on them. The machines are manufactured at our own unit at Vasai Virar in Palghar district, and the showroom in Dahisar East is where you can see them running.
The brand name on the machines is Poonamdeep. You will also see us referred to as Kapi Corporation, which is the same company. If you have bought from us before under either name, it was us.
What changed the business was moving to diamond stone. The traditional emery stone has to be cut back into shape, commonly every week, and for a shop that is lost trading time and a recurring bill. Diamond stone removed that weekly job. It is the reason most of our repeat customers came back for a second machine.
We are ISO 9001:2015 certified, which in practice means our manufacturing process and quality checks are documented and audited rather than left to memory. Every machine is checked before it is crated.
We sell across India and export to Nepal and further afield, but we have deliberately stayed a manufacturer rather than becoming a brand that outsources production. If something goes wrong with a machine, the people who made it are the people who answer the phone.
One thing we will say plainly: we are not the cheapest. A machine with an emery stone and a lighter body will always cost less on day one. What we sell is a heavy cast iron build and a stone that does not need weekly attention, and that only pays off if you actually run the machine hard.
Yes, the same company. Poonamdeep is our brand name on the machines. If you bought from us under any of these names, it was us.
At our own manufacturing unit at Godown 178/A, Sarvopari Nagar, Vasai Virar, Palghar 401208. The showroom in Dahisar East, Mumbai is separate and is where machines are displayed and demonstrated.
Yes. The Dahisar East showroom is open daily 9 AM to 9 PM and machines are set up and running. Bring your own grain if you want to see how it grinds. For a factory visit please tell us in advance.
